Aguaconsult provides support to a range of development partners and NGOs in their effort to design and implement sustainable projects aiming at delivering quality water, sanitation and urban services. Aguaconsult’s technical assistance ranges from the design of infrastructure and institutional strengthening programmes, to the strategic advice on the adoption of monitoring mechanisms and post-programme evaluations.

As part of the Sustainable Services at Scale (Triple-S) initiative, Aguaconsult and IRC developed a week long training for sector practitioners to improve their understanding of the WASH sector and the key building blocks of sustainable services and provide them with examples of good practices. The training included a day on life-cycle costing and was attended by a wide range of stakeholders from various countries.

Aguaconsult provides continued support to the Dutch General International Cooperation (DGIS) on its leading initiatives related to the monitoring of services and the development of tools to increase accountability for sustainable WASH services. Technical assistance includes the evaluation of the first generation of sustainability checks, feedback on the Compacts tested by UNICEF in West-Africa and general support on the UNICEF global programme.

Aguaconsult supported the French Development Agency (AFD) in the design a €90 million programme, co-funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). The programme included rural and peri-urban interventions in four regions of Ghana and the support to a rural Sector Wide Approach.
