Ryan is a Principal Consultant at Aguaconsult. He has more than ten years’ experience in the environmental health sector working primarily on water, sanitation, and hygiene issues and sector finance. Ryan has extensive quantitative and qualitative research experience as well as expertise developing monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks for assessing the impact and sustainability of interventions and programmes. While at Aguaconsult, Ryan has worked on research projects, capacity building initiatives, assessments, and general technical assistance in: Bolivia, Myanmar, South Sudan, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ethiopia. Ryan is currently Aguaconsult's lead on contracts with the United Nation's High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nations University - Institute for Water Environment and Health (UNU-IWEH), IRC-Netherlands, Inter-American Development Bank, Digital Applications International (DAI), WaterAid, and Water For People.
Before joining Aguaconsult Ryan was an Associate Researcher and part-time Lecturer at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa Florida, USA. Ryan obtained a PhD in Environmental Engineering and a specialisation in Global Public Health and Latin American and Caribbean Studies from USF. He holds a Masters Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Michigan Technological University. Ryan has also worked as a geotechnical field engineer, water quality technician, and owned/managed a small paving company for five years in the United States.
